About Green Data Centre
Green Data Centre Inc (GDC) is headquartered in Nova Scotia, Canada since 2009; the company was launched by NCS Network Consulting established in 1991 out of Vancouver, BC Canada. With highly skilled technical consultants located all over the world GDC is one of its kind with no physical office space. Everyone communicates with each other using VoIP services, centralized Document Management Systems, CRM and email.
We operate in a Tier 3 N+1 International Carrier Hotel & Data Centre in the Greater Toronto Area located at 151 Front Street that hosts our entire production infrastructure. The secondary data centre is currently under construction and will be located in Truro, Nova Scotia. It will be strategically used for Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Hot Site Relocation and Nearshore & Offshore services.
The data centre located at 151 Front Street has more than 25 Point of Entry providing diverse pathways for fiber connectivity into a highly secure fiber-optic Meet-Me Rooms (MMRs). The MMRs provide connectivity to more than 150 telecommunication companies. It is one of North America's most connected buildings with 9 fiber-optic networks and more than 7000 strands of fiber.
The data centre is equipped with redundant UPS, diesel generators, HVAC and FM200 fire suppression systems. The chilled water is distributed by Enwave, and its unique Deep Lake Water Cooling delivers chilled water via a 40Km underground pipe network that covers most of the city's downtown core. The facility is a complete InfraStruXure solution. APC InfraStruXure fully integrates power, cooling, environmental management and racks. The integration makes for a fully modular design which can expand with no service disruption to the network, cooling and power.
We are working closely with CoRDA to develop a second data centre that will be Tier 3 and create the first Green Data Centre tech park in the backend high elevation part of the Truro Industrial Park. Our location in Truro, Nova Scotia is 45 minutes north of Halifax International Airport and provides a unique opportunity and availability of resources. In particular we have access to 3 power grid feeds and ample scalable power and 4 unique fiber optic feeds to ISPs. The facility features 10 Gb worldwide fiber looping through Canada, USA & Europe on the Hibernia Atlantic Trans-Atlantic submarine cable network which we access underground securely via privately owned and operated fiber.
Hosting in Canada provides the benefit of stricter privacy laws. Canadian Privacy Laws are renowned as being on par with the European Union.
